Born in Altavilla Irpina (AV), Italy, Violante Lepore always had a passion for niche Italian wines and had a knack for discovering small, family-owned, estate-based producers. With that passion and dedication, he decided to develop a focused portfolio and founded Selected Estates in October of 1981. Still at the forefront of his family-owned and operated import and distribution company, Violante’s vision has stayed true to the traditional values it was created on. His goal has always been for his wine growers and estates to grow with him. The company believes in working with quality wineries, who share his vision of innovation and evolution within the industry. Located in Westchester, New York, everything is done in-house. Selected Estates has established distinction within the industry through its valued, long-standing relationships with its clients and winery estates. The company is still as committed to quality and integrity as it was when it was founded 40 years ago.
